Training
Northern Independent Living provides comprehensive training for service providers (including social and health workers and advocates), service users, and personal assistants, with the aim of promoting a wider understanding of the issues and legislation affecting disabled people.
Our knowledge-based, tailor-made training programmes can be carried out in-house or at Northern Independent Livings premises and cover a range of aspects including Disability Discrimination Act Training, Disability Equality Training, and employer training, which can cover for example manual handling, first aid, fire safety, food hygiene, paperwork and staff management techniques.
